Oh Tannenbaum! 2023
2023 wound me up pretty tight and the draw of the beaches in Hawaii inspired this year’s cover.
Telling My Story
Music has always been a scrapbook to me. Sometimes it’s a simple note, other times, it is a whole song, but no matter what, when I hear music, I am transported to the period in my life when it mattered most.
2023 wound me up pretty tight and the draw of the beaches in Hawaii inspired this year’s cover.
I’ve always wanted a vintage pink Christmas tree and as a housewarming gift my friends Mike and Mike bought one for me.
This was my first Christmas at Falling Creek in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
It’s been a rough year and we need this season of joy, giving and love more than ever.
My inspiration for this year’s playlist was the quiet, snow blanketed mornings at The Ranch making it more traditional than usual.
This year’s Oh Tannenbaum! can best be described as “intense.” It starts with strong, bold arrangements of traditional carols then moves into more classic arrangements from some old favorites and comes to a cinematic, uplifting finish.
From the upbeat beginning tracks to the quiet, calm closing tracks, this year’s Oh Tannenbaum hits just the right notes for me.
With the exception of a few of the early tracks being non-traditional, this is one of the more traditional Oh Tannenbaums! in the boxed set.
With artists from RuPaul to Rosemary Clooney, this playlist is likely the most eclectic of all the Oh Tannenbaum’s yet.
Mom makes the cover of Oh Tannenbaum! 2014 (kissing Santa Claus, no less) to honor her with the playlist bringing together clever new songs, incredible “oldies” and a few traditional favorites. Just like she’d like.
My friend Ron had just returned from a long-term business trip to L.A. And he came back with a ton of cool music which basically makes up this playlist.
It’s hilarious that the one song available on the iTunes Store has the most vulgar title and is sung by a drag queen.
